I'm in the Northeast and we've had ALOT of snow/ice mix this season. I had 6" of powder on top of about 1" of ice on top of about 8" of mixed snow on the roof of my garage. It's an interior corner so if I don't clear it, I get massive Ice Damming.

The rake did it's job fairly well and for the most part, I'm happy I got something as quickly as I did and that it helped get the job done since we're expecting another storm this week.

The downside.........
1) With three poles on it ( ~12'-15' long ) it does sway and bend a lot. Not sure they can do much about that and still keep the whole thing lite.
2) The connection to the blade needs to be redesigned. What they did was cut a slot in the pole that fits around the top edge of the blade. I tightened it down enough but not too much because it would crush the pole flat. After clearing all the snow/ice off the roof, I noticed that from pulling on it to get the snow down, it is starting to tear the aluminum pole where that slot is that connects to the blade. I'm likely going to get some galvanized pipe and create a new short section to replace the aluminum one with the slot. I'll likely crush the head of it flat then bolt it flat to the blade. I'll try to take some pictures of the before and after so you can see exactly what it looks like.

All in all.... it did the job and should help prevent ice damming on this storm but.... unless I modify the connection point, it won't last.

Worked fairly well, but the snow was full of ice, so was limited. We did succeed pushing snow DOWN from an upstairs window, and it held up fine.

This roof rake was a roof saver. I was able to take snow piled three feet high off of my roof without a problem. The lenghth was great because I was able to get to the majority of my roof without having to use a ladder.
